How to cheaply paint your S90 Honda back (or as close as possible) to factory colors.

Early black Super 90’s have grey fenders; the later models have chrome fenders. This is paint instructions for the early models as the later came in metallic colors, not just black white and red. I have a black S90 and I am going to restore it to factory colors, or as close as I can get with a shoestring budget. Here is what you do…
Paint: Gloss black,
Eastwood Corp. Argent silver wheel paint pt#10001Z,
Clear Duplicolor high performance wheel coating pt#HWP103 (get it at Pepboys),
Duplicolor pt#DA1684
All the black bits (frame, battery cover, etc.) paint with the gloss black. Paint as you usually would any parts.
The fenders paint with the Argent silver after 15-20minutes, then spray with the clear Duplicolor high performance paint. Let it completely dry, sand, then paint with another coat of clear.
The motor spray with a Duplicolor DA1684 wait 5minutes then spray lightly with clear (only a fine mist).
And there you have it, as close as you can come to original factory paint for just a little bit of money.

S90 porting

I know, I know…. I’m doing way too many things at once. I just mildly ported and polished the S90 head so I can build the engine. The jug was bored 50 over and the cam chain came in, just waiting for the longer duration cam to come back into stock so I can buy that as well. I have painted the frame and will paint the rest of the tins when it gets warmer. It will be a fun little project to put together for the spring. I really dig the smaller CC Hondas, and the Super 90 is one of my favorite looking bikes.
Here is the head after the mild porting

45″ rebuild

The trike ran, but that’s about all it did. I know the 45’s don’t have all that much power but my engine was tired from the get go. So while it’s cold out I pulled the engine. After work today I stripped it, and at first seeing the 5 over pistons I thought so far so good….. till I got to the bottom end. Looks like someone put a new top end on a worn bottom end, and that really wore it out. The rods move around like a Volkswagen shifter, but at least the cams are in great shape. Total rebuild time!!!! What the hell? I love this shit…..
