New Orleans Digger
Questions answered
So it looks as though the guy who was with the guy who I went to get the Shovel off of has checked the website and had some questions. Obviously, he was pissed. I won’t include the entire childish “jackass no talent hack” comments that were included so as not to bore you with my personal life. I thought this guy was much more level headed than the actual owner of the bike, but I stand corrected.

My questions are this, even though I don’t suspect they’ll be answered…..
#1 why was your bike tagged in Mississippi and you live in Tennessee?
Answer: I just moved from Mississippi to Tennessee (that was a tough one)

#2 if you have a partner (uhh, ok…) that is a MMI graduate then why didn’t he change your voltage regulator (not generator like you stated, I saw the one on the bike….it was old!)?
doesn’t matter what MMI classification he took in school, any jackass can follow a manual…
Answer: I did the work myself and assumed the VR was the problem, after changing it for a new one (and that didn’t fix the voltage reading) I knew it was the generator. I then had to take it to the shop as it was the day before we were to meet and I had to pick up the trailer and borrow a truck to haul the bike. Therefore I didn’t have time to put on a new generator. Plus your buddy was pestering me about when it was going to be done.

#3 why when saying there was NOTHING wrong with that 74 motor, we find later that you have pics up on this blog showing the repair on the cases……hell, when you sell a motor like that, or ANY motor…..THAT is the THE first thing you tell someone!
Answer: I really didn’t see the repair on the bottom of the engine, it was just something I threw in to sweeten the deal. After we inspected it I put pictures up on the blog so that anyone interested in it would know about it. Stand up thing to do…and thanks for bringing it to my attention.

And lastly, You DONT need a title when buying a bike or car older than 1986 in georgia….the title is a courtesy that the BUYER (namely you) must ask for when buying the bike…whether he or she is buying the bike for out of state or not…..you fucked up not getting this bike, i know FIRST hand what the bike is and is worth and you only wish you knew what you passed up!
Whatever that means, thanks for the comment. Anyway……In all fairness to you, your buddy said it had a CLEAR title (I asked), and then went on about the registration and bill of sale. You may not have been privy to these phone calls, but he was adamant about working for a HD dealership and knowing all the paperwork was good. Not only that but he never checked the VIN numbers before bringing me all the way out there, cause they were off too. The big problem was when I saw the title was not clear I called TN DMV to see if it would still go through with this bill of sale registration thing. Well, as it is written, they won’t accept anything less than a title.
What pissed me off is that your buddy started stomping around and getting all loud about the deal falling through when I said no thanks. You were cool, but he acted like a kid that didn’t get his candy, and that pissed me off. I calmly collected my stuff and gave you guys the benefit of the doubt, even when he started in with “if Jesus Christ sold you a motorcycle from Georgia….” Bullshit. Even you chimed in with “we have been doing this a lot longer than you” crap that I also let roll of my back.
So you ask what prompted my blog about the whole ordeal. The final straw was the next day when your buddy called and said he got all the paperwork straight, and I said great but you’re going to have to come up here with the bike for me to trade/buy it. He then said he didn’t want to trade anymore he just wanted me to know he had his paperwork together and that this whole friggin’ mess was his “honest mistake”. Well thanks, I really appreciate it. So after all I did to make the deal work it fell through anyway. So yes, it did get under my skin, little by little, ’til I finally blogged about it on my website. I wrote how I felt about him wasting my time and had a good laugh at your expense. Funny thing, I felt better. Still do.
